At the moment there is no way to place custom equipment into the room as a collectible object like the standard equipment. The only way to get custom equipment to be a collectible object sitting on the floor is to already have it and then "drop" it into an empty floor slot or by picking up another piece of equipment.

Currently published holds get around this by using a custom character with ghost display to look like the weapon, and upon the player entering the same square, activates an equipment swap command, however this has the issue of the ghost display character not being right-clickable, so you can't see the equipment name or stat comparison before picking it up for the first time.

I'd like to suggest a new entry into the "Equipment" set of commands alongside "Swap", "Destroy", etc. which is "Generate". Upon calling this, the character that executes the script will drop a piece of the selected equipment at the location it is standing.

I guess this has the usual issue of the equipment not showing up in the H&S room image or if you used the "Add room to map" command until you first enter the room proper, but well, can keep on using a character with ghost display for that I guess?
