Windows seems darker? (+1)

For some reason, it looks like something made my screen settings darker.
The strange thing is, DROD is bright, as it should be,
but all other programs are darker (excel, word, other games, explorer,...)

anyone an idea if there is some kind of setting in windows 7

Even when I activate DROD, all other programs get as bright as DROD, when I activate another program , everything gets back darker...

EDIT: the problem has seem to solved by restarting the computer...
