Oddly enough, if you push a sworded character into a puff, they stab before they die.

If said character walks onto the puff themselves, they don't stab before they die.

It's probably working as the internals of the game dictate, but it's still a strange and unintuitive edge case. I'm not 100% sure if it needs to be changed, but it's open for discussion.

What solution do you propose?

From my point of view it's probably best idea to make it work the same as with pushing something into a pit, this would make it most consistent with everything else.

I would agree with that. I think having the swords strike stuff regardless of if you step onto the puff or if you are pushed into it.

Consistency is what I would want with the change and this seems consistent with pits and other stuff. The only thing that the alternative seems consistent with is that characters on hot tiles die without getting to act if they don't try to step off.

I don't think any published holds make use of stepping into puffs and not stabbing, but we would want to check and hope that holds in HA won't get broken by any changes.

Fixed in 5.0.2, guards and others stepping into puff will still perform a stab.

This issue appears to have been fixed for 5.0.2. Sworded entities can stab monsters when being pushed into a square occupied by a puff before dying.
