Using 5.0.1.6060 for Mac OS X.

When making a beta hold available to testers, I cannot view their demos. Attempting to open one shows an "ERROR: File corrupted" dialogue.

If the tester posts the demo on the forum (beta board), I can download it and view it fine.

Hrm. You get that when you try to download the demo? I can download and view all the demos just fine (though some of them are broken as they were recorded in an earlier version of the hold I assume, but still watchable). I'm on a Windows machine though.

Yes; for me, all demos recorded by blorx1 cannot be downloaded in-game (F6 screen) due to the "corrupted" error message. But the same demos can be imported fine.

So now I'm trying to download a hold (for the first time) from a beta board (by disoriented) and I'm getting a file corrupted error which is rather worrying. I'll post my drod.err here. I've also had a lot of other beeps in the past so there are probably things that are less relevant, but the most recent bugs were from trying to import.

edit: I'm using 5.0.1.6060 and am on windows if it's relevant.

Yes it is corrupted from there.

Other note: it's corrupted from the link at the top of the beta board and from in game but when I download in game the game crashes instead of displaying an error message.

We fixed the *hold* corruption issue - I needed to make a copy of the hold and upload it. Perhaps there was an ID conflict of some kind.

Schik, would you please delete the Beta Board "New Empty Hold" under my profile?

Mike, just FYI I traced this to a <WorldMaps> entry having DataID='13890' that could not be found. In the copy that disoriented made, the same WorldMaps has a DataID='0'.

I don't know the map stuff well enough to know what that means, but hopefully you do.

The original problem with downloading demos remains. The error is "File Corrupted".

In drod.err I see:
Assertion error in line 144 of ../../BackEndLib/StretchyBuffer.cpp: "dwSetBufSize > 0"
Assertion error in line 1329 of ../../DRODLib/DbXML.cpp: "size"

Hi,

I installed build 6060 into a Windows 7 VM, connected to CNet, and demos downloaded without any problems in the beta hold I tested. But on the 6060 build on Mac, the demo downloads silently fail.

I've confirmed these things:
- This occurs only for beta holds
- This occurs only when downloading holds via the game interface - a hold downloaded from the web and imported from the file imports correctly
- The first assertion, the one in "CStretchyBuffer::Set". This function is called exactly once during the demo import. At the beginning, it is set to the demo data received from the server and the assertion fails because the data's length is... 0 bytes. Curious.

Disoriented, do you have access to a software similar to fiddler (Some suggestions)? Basically a soft which allows you to inspect all internet requests going through your PC? I'd need you to install something like this and check what is sent to the server and what response is returned. I don't see why it would be, buy maybe, for some reason, the response data is empty.

Does anyone else with a mac here who could confirm this happens on all macs?

The problem is caused by the fact that, for some reason, the ID value for beta holds overflows and is sent as a giant integer.

I've handled it from the server side but at some point we'll want to investigate why this even happens on a mac.
