So, having been playing DROD fine for a long period, suddenly it will not load. It shows the door icon, then the program simply closes.

Hard to say what triggered it precisely, but I've done some debugging:

- uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help.

- if I rename the C:\ProgramData\Caravel\drod-5_0 directory, the program loads and runs fine, creating a new drod-5_0, meaning the error is in there somewhere.

- if I copy and paste all files from my saved drod-5_0 to the plain version created above, *except text.dat*, the game loads up (though of course it is missing some settings, names of demos etc).

- I can find no signs of a drod.err anywhere, neither in that the ProgramData version or the DROD directory in Program Files.

Have attached relevant files from the ProgramData directory. (can reattach if it helps, but seems it's Caravelnet related)

Help?

PS - might be coincidental, but my Caravelnet subscription ran out today.

In fact, given the timestamp of the reminder emails that were sent out, plus when the DROD room images disappeared, this was the first time I attempted to load the game since Caravelnet expired.

Anyone else with just the 1 month subscription able to open DROD right now?

Ahha, I disabled my internet connection, and that allow DROD to load. Went into the settings, and removed my Caravelnet settings - now I can load things up again.

So yeah, pretty big issue somewhere there.

Can confirm same thing is happening to me.

Free month o' CaravelNet expired today, if I try to load TSS it shows me the door (literally), then shows me the door (figuratively)

I am on 5.0, haven't patched yet.
