Wackhead_uk, You can't get Doom 1, Doom 2 or Doom 3 legally for free. And Doom 3 has quite scary atmosphere in my opinion.

But even Mrimer can't beat the mighty powers of Schik.

The source code for Doom (and Quake) has been made freely available for non-profit use, so it IS possible to get it for free (although you need the graphics, sounds, etc. from the original game (or you could try some opensource doom-project))
