Just wondering what the process is for creating the background art in the game. Are they painted at 320x200 size in Photoshop?

Corby did most of the backgrounds, but I am pretty sure both of us paint at native resolution in Photoshop (Corby uses a mouse!).

For me, my general process is to do a black and white sketch, then block in colours using a new layer set to 'multiply'. After that, it's a lot of painting (brushing colours on, and making refinements).

Corby's approach is more methodical and he keeps his layers better organised (e.g. a layer for the ground, a layer for each of the objects and so on). I think he tends to block in the shapes of the objects with a solid colour first, then add colour and detail from there.
