On "Zen: Autumn: 2N 1W" the top three demos are by LvanPelt, mxvladi, and myself. The first move of each demo is a NW move, but the mimic reacts differently in each of the recordings.

LvanPelt's demo: mimic remains stationary
mxvladi's demo: mimic moves N
my demo: mimic moves W

All three demos are accepted by the spider, so I'm not sure what else is at play here.

It's not a bug: it's architect's bad scripting. It depends on where the mimic in previous room is moving when you exit it and enter this one. The "direction" variables reset after mimic gets chance to make its first move, apparently.

It's even possible to make mimic move S first. But, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to help in reclaiming that #1

EDIT:...but it does help in other rooms. Uh oh.
