I didn't have a problem with this room itself (killed all the serpents easily), but now what? Am I through with the Desert for now? (Should I even be here? I haven't been told who Maguig is, but after U-Man's Temple I returned to the Temple Gardens and found a gateway to this location.) I've sidled through the wilderness to the east, southeast, and south of this room, but I can't seem to get access to the active parts of those rooms. I'm clearly missing something.

So... may I be granted a hint or two? What should I be doing next?

EDITED TO ADD: Whoops, missed one crucial feature. Never mind....

How do I open the door to the north?

I've done most of the rooms on this level, and I've been to the other (spidery) level accessible through a portal that has a similar layout, though I couldn't do much there. There are orbs in this room (as well as its twin on the other level), that seemingly don't do anything.

Thanks. But then: where do I proceed?

The only way forward I saw that was not blocked by a door or a statue was at Evil Chill Wasteland : 2 South, where But I guess that's not the intended way.
