I just thought it would be interesting if instead of contrasting by RPG verse normal DROD, to contrast all the caravel titles against each other.

Oh, and please don't vote for them all. it defeats the purpose of the poll.

Really, I don't think it's fair to include F&M on this list. It's not even finished, you know. ;)

I figured, what the heck, it's multiple choice. If that is the top choice, we know that there's a problem.

Tendry's Tale. I just can't tap into the puzzle mind, so might as well move to the one place that's just begging to be TC'd.
Shame that there aren't really any active TCs anymore, though. Sidio's pretty much in stasis, and Deathmatch is his problem. TotS is done, so nothing to say about that (never completed Tower One ever anyway), Tendry's Challenge petrified, and the DROD RPG to DROD engine died a quiet death. This is... a little saddening to me. :(

What does that stand for?
I'm assuming this.

I am simply confounded by the fact that F&M isn't the top choice. I have not found one singe problem with it in all the times I've played.

Also, I found out that after The Colbert Report, Comedy Central begins advertising porn.

I voted for The City Beneath. I think that TCB had the best puzzles, best layout, and best storyline of all the games. The RPG is also very cool, but after a while, the puzzles get boring.

KDD is long, difficult, and not well-presented. The rooms are too messy and the puzzles are basic. On the other hand, it gives a very good "dungeony" feel.

JtRH is a great hold because the puzzles are cool and well presented, but they are very difficult. Rooms in the later levels get messy, but there are a few cool looking ones, like in the Seventeenth Level, Once North Once East. The puzzle is good and the layout was presented with flair.

Frogs and Mice, like what Snacko said, is the greatest game of them all. Its excellence and consistency is beyond questioning. It's a shame to see so few people vote for it. Makes me wish I voted for it. :(

AE had lovely graphics and music that didn't get preserved, and it was almost impossible to be underhanded to the player once you had a transparent tar mod. It was also freeware and didn't have optimization, so there was more focus on having fun.

TCB, despite some of its features getting unintuitive or abstract (see: monster roles not acting like the goddamn monsters), has a great variety of elements, all of which have some puzzle potential. It also has great aesthetics. And it was the only one that gave me hope, however false, that we would finally get to see some story in DROD.

What do you mean? TCB, while not being my favorite, had plenty of story.

...Yes. That is what I said. It gave me hope that there would be more story and more canon. Then there was not, unless there is some in the RPG, which I refuse to count because you can walk on doors in the RPG and that's retarded.

Walking on doors in the RPG isn't retarded, it's inconsistent. On the other hand, the RPG is so different from classic DROD that, aside from the plot and setting, I wouldn't even consider it a DROD-like game!

Similarly, walking on doors isn't retarded for a different reason. Doors in the Eighth are nothing like the doors on Earth. Being five feet long and wide and probably controlled by a light pressure system able to be counteracted without damage (think of stopping a closing elevator), one could easily "hold" down a door while they crouched between the door and the ceiling. There's probably also a rail or something to force down the door when you need to walk across two separate doors.

Tendry, being a scout and not a smiter, is lighter than Beethro and can thus balence on doors with great ease. Which don't go all the way to the roof, for obvious safety reasons.

Beethro has always been able to stand on doors. He just can't walk along them because his feet outrun his other feet.
