Can you suggest evidence of this? One of the things that I think needs to happen with respect to downmod discussions is evidence; if MemberX says "i gets moddd doun all th tyme maek it stop!!!!", I'd want pointers to posts to show that MemberX is being modded down unfairly, as opposed to being modded down for posting incoherently.

NiroZ is hardly MemberX. All the same, evidence would be good.

removing points off posts is a lot harder to prove. Syntax mentioned that a +4 of his was reverted to zero. If you want proof, keep an eye on the rankpoints of neather2, syntax or me. They tend to stay fixed at a certain level. For me it's 1134

For me, it seems to be 978. Once I finally managed to break the 1000 barrier (up to 1027 or so), the downmodder kicked in (I hadn't posted for a month or so) and put me back on 978 overnight.

Evidence is difficult to show as I don't keep a tally of the exact posts being modded up, but pretty much every post I made in April was modded back down to 0.

That being said, evidence can be extrapolated from the fact I was in a long-run contest to reach a 1000 first vs Briareos. Dropping from 1000+ to 978 would suggest enough evidence to show that someone is indeed downmodding unfairly.

Maybe it's just me, but (unless it was someone with an infinite supply of mod points) isn't that a total waste of mod points?

I'm still whittling away my mod points by modding up posts in H&S, but if I did something like that I'd burn through them in no time...

I think that someone just liked that post, as otherwise they'd have just modded up 15 posts +2. Not to mention that they didn't just mod up one of my old posts, and picked that post. Could be the moderators, but doubt it because they don't reverse points, and mainly mod up posts on the h&s board.
