Most of my levels revolve around a central idea, usually trying every angle of it.
Most of my unfinished levels (of which there are many) are large ones that I did half of one day, and then sort of lost...

Anyway, I still cant seen to work well with the ST1 objects, but have no trouble with the ST2 ones, so if there was a ST2 version of this, then I would probably be able to find it in me to enter a reasonable level.

Well maybe one day it will be possible to have a contest where you can enter either subterra or subterra 2 level.

Any objects in particular that you have trouble with?

Also what animal is that as your avatar? :huh

The nature of the contest implies that everyone must enter the same kind of level (ie either ST1 or ST2), because you download a template to use.

Ah, finally, my entry is finished. I tried to do something a little unusual with the objects in the level. I hope you all like it.

Also, CM, I noticed that your replay solution does not satisfy the hard gem quota. I wasn't sure if you were aware of this or not.

It would be easy to alternate which game (ST 1 or 2) the template was built in each month.

I think those three emeralds, two rubies, and one diamond that are very obviously missed should be enough to satisfy it. (I think they were missed because they weren't there when I recorded the solution. Also you're supposed to get the yellow key rather than taking the conveyor.)

My June entry "The Hunt". More actiony than puzzley. :)

(also, my "a" key is busted, so I've had to hit ctrl-V every time I want to use it... that's why the level is credited to "Dnjen" ;))

I take back what I said about "please don't edit the first post", since the voting threads contain the exact same info that was once in the first post. :)

Yes, I only just noticed that. :rolleyes

The July template looks interesting.

I haven't made any complete subterra II levels yet so it should be fun. :D

Oh, that's a good question. Yes, I suppose I should allow that at least in this template.

Ah, BigWig!
I've been waiting for a long time for someone to ask.
You just made my day!
It's an albino guinea pig, of which I own many, as the albino gene seems to be very strong in my breeding pair.

Oh, I'll try out the new levels and report back... ;)

Can I add more portal exits, or must it be impossible for the player to get into some of the areas? (Well, apart from exploding/zapping walls...)

Yes.

Remember, the guidelines are meant to inspire creativity, not to stifle it. So whenever you wonder whether your interpretation is allowed, the answer is most probably "yes". But thank you for asking!

Have made a level, but no time to test tonight.
Took the liberty of changing two other blocks into non-allowed blocks but that's ok according to what you just said.
Goodnight.

Whoops, I realized that you can do something I didn't want you to be able to do (namely not blowing up the detonator). Here's the fixed level.

Here is My entry, with the standard unintuitive name.
It's rather simple, but "Ooooh, pretty!".
I thought about filling it with faeries, but that might bring on some seizures.

In this template, you may replace square walls with logic gates (you know, those walls with a wire crossing and a symbol like >0 ). Just don't overdo it :)

Oops, must have missed this bit, but I've just got it there for effect.:P

Is it at all possible to have two separate comps, one for ST1 and one for ST2?
First off, Most people probably find it easier to make several levels in a row, as I know that once I'm on a role(hardly ever), My level quality increases as well as the output.

Second, I like ST2, and having a good reason to make a level for it means that making a level is less of a spontaneous thing.
Until I can get the hang of using ST1, anything to help me practise would be nice. :)

Nice level. I like the use of portals and the reverse gravity. I've also included both of them in mine which should be finished soon.

Well, I'm done early this month, for once. Doing this level made me realize just how much more practice I need with ST2. I think I'm going to focus my level designing on it for a while.

Thanks BigWig, since I spent a long time fiddling around with gravity reverser's I thought I'd try to find a way to use it.
I didn't come up with much, but hey, two hours work, and I was falling asleep at the time.

Like the level B.J.
I was tell and cruly wonfused, for the first five minutes or so, but once I'd figured that You weren't using the ring for some of it's more subtle purposes, I made it through.

Oh, I forgot to mention.
I'm still using an older version of subterra, so if the replay doesn't work that's probably why.
Anyway, It's easy, Figure it out yourself. :thumbsup

Here's my level after hours of annoying problems which were fixed but created more problems. I've made it harder and more non linear than my June entry. I hope you like it.
