Just wondering:
What is your favourite creature in KOL?

I just got a few odd looks after bursting into laughter over the gnollish crossdresser(not to be confused with the gnollish dresscrosser):thumbsup

I'm only on level 4, so I guess I've got a few laughs coming up. This game is great :D

I don't have any real favorite enemies in KoL, all are funny in some way.

You should be alright in a little while. I beat them at level 12.
I have to say, my favourite monster is the BASIC elemental.

PVP guide:

Get all the stuff. Whitey's grove is for whitewashed fence, and look up how to make scarecrow. Meat golem = fairy gravy+meat face + wooden figurine + maginalness-in-a-can. Orcish Meat Lockers are handy for guarding your meat. Statboosting stuff is really really really good for you in PVP. Attack people of different stats camped near you, so I'm an accordion thief but my muscle and mysticality are all higher by 20 than my moxie, and I boost them with Jarlsberg Earrings, Star Sword, and Boris's Sword before I attack. Since people camped near me all have less than 100 muscle and moxie I own them all!

Hey all I have a question, I have been drunk for over 10+ hours and nothing happened. Do I eventually get sober, or is there anyway to cure it?

Drunkenness goes away at the end of each KoL-day, which happens at Midnight EST. That's also when you get new adventures.

First of all, I would advise you against buying items needed for quests. It's much more rewarding to gain them by adventuring. If you bought your items because you could not survive the giants, then there is not much point in solving the map as the next area is even tougher.

Anyway,

I'm having a small problem you guys perhaps could help me sort out:

I am no longer able to combine stuff. On my inventory screen the second row now reads: [sell stuff] [cook stuff] [smith stuff] [make cocktails]

This is where I should be able to combine stuff, right? Did I drop anything needed for combining things?

Sorry to bother you with trivialities like this, but I can't see what I'm missing...

You probably ran out of meat paste. You can make more of it in your inventory, at the bottom of the page.

I had this big stock of meat paste so I just combined stuff without thinking and eventually forgot about the paste.

Thanks anyway, Schik.

Wow, after a few days of playing this game gets seriously addicting. As for my favorite enemies, theres to much to name. But I just burst out laughing when I first adventured in the Sleazy Back Alley. The Bum-Rushing Bum, The Big bowling ball and of course, the "Hey man, it's hammer time" guy (sorry to all, I don't remember his name). I always crack up about thinking of knife-weilding cans of asparagus when I look into my pantry cupboard.

Just got added to the clan this evening. I'm a level 5 Disco Bandit. I have a load of miscellaneous stuff in my inventory, but have no clue what's worth adding to the Clan Stash. Just don't know enough about the game yet, have only been playing for 5-6 days. What kind of stuff can low level characters find that would be worth adding to the Stash? I got a couple of Disembodied Brains today, and it sounds like those are useful (though I haven't a clue what they're useful FOR). Loose teeth, gnoll lips, several different Bat items, an asparagus knife, mushrooms, sausage, tomatoes, a ghuol egg, and cranberries. And some old equipment that was worse than what I already had.

Any advice as to what I should look for equipment-wise is also welcome. Currently using some generic hat (20), a gnollish plunger (35), Slug Lord pants (30), an accessory that doesn't help at all but is supposed to let you see the entrance to another area, the gold teeth from the Shadowy Store (+15 Muscle), and a shiny ring (+3 to all stats).

EDITED>
I touched bases with saxogds today, who has been very helpful and informative. Have been bothering him for about an hour, though. :)

For your information, the pickle factory is open in the plains, and you could get specteral pickles, which are worth a lot, but you have to make them and i wont tell you how.

Also, once you get enough stats to wear hippo pants, wear those.

I hear you need a primary stat of 150+ to enter the factory. I won't be worrying about that for a while, as mine is only about 40 before modifiers. :)

And I just switched to hippo pants today. Mmmm, HP bonus.

I just realized how totally lucky we are that we have no stash raiders. With the 500 default karma you gain, someone could just take the crimbo duds and leave. They alone are worth millions.

I guess there are two reasons for that.

Firstly, the clan is exclusively made up of people from here (and friends they've vetted). People on this board are very well behaved and thus behave well on Kol. Furthermore, doing something bad on kol would probably reflect badly on this board.

Secondly, ok, you could raid the stash and you'd be booted out. But then you would have great difficulty finding a clan as usefull as ours. I don't think there are many clan that freely provide hell ramen, umbrella drinks and other expensive things in such quantities. It would be foolished to give this up for a short-lived gain.

In the end, even if it happens it won't be the end of the world. It wouldn't take long for the high-level members of the clan to replace everything if they dedicate their time to it. It only took me two weeks to gather the meat for the crimbo duds.

By the way I've changed your, and several other people's, rank in the clan so that you are not limited by karma anymore.

You guys sound like a great clan! I've heard of several where people ignore you or are just in it for themselves. I will apply to join.

Character is Animarrel, lvl 5 (for now) turtle tamer.

Goal is to get all of the familiars. (Will suck come reset, but fun for now).

Tattoos: they do nothing, they're just sort of marks of your accomplishments.
And what level before you move on from the pantry? Well, I'd say as soon as you get some better areas (level 4) but even now, you should spread out your adventures among places like spooky woods (level 2), spooky temple (need map), alley, etc.

A meat stack is 100 meat. (a dense meat stack is a 1000). You can make them in your inventory at the bottom of the miscellabous page. Meat stacks don't serve much purpose other than giving you money (autosell them) and once for a particular quest that you'll get around level 5.

You ought to apply to our clan, the smitemaster guild.
