I do agree that this must at some point be added and I myself needed it a while ago, but if it's going to end up anything like bridges, I would personally prefer that most of the current outstanding bugs are fixed first.

From the outside looking in, it could go either way; I would think platforms would have the same problems as bridges, but then again doors are fine (of course, those were probably tested a lot more)...
