Guess what? Some avatars confuse me, so I decided to make a guessing game out of it. Anyone who posts here probably will get me (and possibly other people) making guessing games from their avatars. Of course, this only applies if you HAVE an avatar. If you don't, you can still guess.

I have to say that I think the majority of people on this board have absolutely stellar avatars. My favorites that I can think of are Shick's yin-yang animation, Koro's snake, DiMono's eye, and I believe it's Nillo's smiley-face-licker-dude. I also think mine's pretty clever, but most of my friends disapprove of it.

That insane tentacle looks familiar. Where's it from?

I agree completely, those avatars are really cool.

As for trick's tentacle, I've seen it before as well, and I think it's from an old computer game. Day of the Tentacle, maybe?

Also, I'll be really impressed if anyone figures out my avatar without knowing what it is in advance.

Yup, that's mine.
Is'nt it cool?

My favorite avatar is probably Schik's Yin-Yang animation.

Yes, but it's not an ordinary one. There's a reason it looks somewhat odd. Hint:

Is it a Funnelweb spider web?

This thread reminds me, I keep forgetting to change the colours on my avatar so it becomes a forum-queen. And I actually stopped to say to myself "wow, that's cool" when I saw Schik's new avatar.

Precisely. It is the web made by a spider on caffeine.

Is it just me, or does the web of a spider on LSD look like the normal one except for the fact that the lighting is such that not all of the "concentric fibres" (you know what I mean) can be seen?

I think it isn't just the lighting. You can see that the radii in the web look completely normal. I think the difference is that the "concentric fibres" are a lot thinner than normally.

So basically what that page is telling us is: "Hash and mescaline aren't that bad, but stay away from that cup of coffee!" I mean, I think the spider on caffeine is the one most likely to go hungry. Thanks for the link, Watcher.

And why just people under 7?

This should apply to everyone, not just very young children. Drug addiction (to illegal and mind-altering types) is dangerous, and will often ruin your life, social habits, finance and health. If you're unlucky you could also die or develop serious health problems taking them, especially if the drug happens to be very potent. In addition, drug addicts often resort to crime in order to get enough money to buy more drugs, and are often violent out of desperation caused by withdrawal.

Why should anyone start in the first place?

Non-potent drugs like tobacco are absolutely harmless.

Alternatively, one can use social contacts garnered through drug addiction to start a successful small business in selling crack to elementary schoolers, eventually moving up to the highly lucrative world of weapon smuggling.

Seriously though, I've spent too much of my life drunk or high or otherwise killing my brain and body. I recommend avoiding all mind-altering substances without darn good reason (be it to fix ADD, make an evening in a hot tub more interesting, a pink floyd concert... or college) because casual drug use can only lead to trouble. But what should be more scary than a life of crime and violence that most middle class drug abusers manage to avoid, is waking up one morning and realizing that you haven't done anything with your life. Sober memories will be much sweeter, believe me.

Well, no, it's not a BARBARIAN squirrel. It's what you should think it is: a squirrel fighting for the cause of good by holding a black shotgun and firing it.
Man, this is the fastest growing topic I've made!!!
Trick, is that a blue squictopus tentacle thing? :w00t

Trick's avatar is one of many tentacles from Maniac Mansion.

Squirrels, inherently evil, can't fight for the cause of good, although are, in fact, usually quite skilled with the shotgun; despite a natural inclination to use flamethrowers. The burning smell makes them yiffy.

Maniac Mansion 2, actually (Day Of The Tentacle), one of the best adventure games ever created. And it's not just any tentacle. It's Purple Tentacle. Y'know, the one who presently has been taking over the world 400 years in the future of 200 years ago.

Squirrels may be handy with shotguns, but they keep burying their bullets where they can't find them, so they run out of ammo pretty fast.

Ag, did you follow the link?

There's been a couple of incidents recently involving small kids, cannabis and pasta. Of course cannabis is a worry. But then again, I'm deathly afraid of anything that will ensure that I'm not in full control of my faculties, so I'm not nearly the best source.
