Okay, lovely 5.32 minute hold.
Signs of Choras:
Entrance: There's no way to kill the roaches. Maybe add some hot tiles?
1E: Easy
1E1N: KDD Level 1 Easy
1N: Best room in the hold, though still very easy
1N1W: If you're going to force someone to plough through walls, at least add a secret room somewhere!
1W: Decent, but again ULTRA easy
Sign of Martis:
Entrance: too many trapdoors
1N and 2N: Ooh! Cut through mud and run around bouncing into walls!
2N1E: Decent, but JtRH Level 1 Easy
2N2E: Hmm...I seem to be writing the same thing for every single room.
3N2E: Ooh! a brain! scary!
Sign of Zakille:
No. You do realize that you don't have to kill slayers to conquer rooms right? I really don't enjoy taking thirty seconds to run around random arrangements of slayers.
The secret rooms at least add a little variety to the choice of monsters.
So, the hold is too easy. I mean, WAAAAAAY too easy. The rooms are too bare, so you might consider adding obstacles, plush sofas, maybe even lighting! Although a slight improvement, the hold is still hack and slash, and the "
ly/inchpins"
are blatantly obvious to even the most novice players. I suggest adding some more monsters to all of the rooms, maybe some briars, aumtlich, and roach queens that spawn until you've killed all other monsters in the room. The last level is ugly. Try to come up with puzzles featuring something more engaging than randomly placed slayers and having the player whiz by them. Maybe you could force a slayer kill in a few of them? The hold might be ok for people just starting out with DROD that have absolutely no clue what they are doing. Also you might want to add some little bit of story, through characters or scrolls. Heck, you could put a scroll in the middle of every room with a Chinese pasta joke that ends with a badump-crash! Keep trying, ZiomASek! You'll get it soon!
