I know that secret walls can be abused with judicious use of darkness, but really, when the player can discover them by right-clicking and being told there's a secret wall there, what's the point of having them at all? :( I feel I'm not being trusted to make good use of them....

So, the feature request is that right-click doesn't tell you that it's secret wall? Because I second the request if that's right.

Is right-clicking walls meticulously to look for secret walls somehow worse than running your sword along walls meticulously to look for secret walls?

Well, if it's an accident, it just doesn't seem right that you can find a secret wall that you can't normally see until you cut to it. There's a reason it's called "Secret".

If you see a secret wall crack (and the absence/presence of other cracks) you can usually figure out where it'll lead.

Certainly; it can change your entire decision-making process in a room if you know ahead of time that there's a secret wall in a place you can't yet reach with your sword.

And Banjooie, if you have something you want to communicate, then talking in the same language as the rest of us would help.

They are scriptable.

How that? (In TCB, I have no problems imagining it in RPG)

Exactly the same thing done in TCB.

EDIT: Obviously neither of the two is right-click friendly.

And you're sure that neither of the two infringes copyright?

I do not know, really. If they do, I will put them down and will never do anything like it again.

Well, to the best of my knowledge, a character is not allowed to use a sprite made by Caravel, even in such a context (unmodified, in a DROD room, etc.). I had thought of this method as well.

The method I meant when I meant that it would be possible in DROD RPG is because that engine seems to have a more capable build command. So I figured you could make a totally transparent character, have it wait until player bumps it, then disappear and build normal floor where it was.

All right, removed my holds. I'll try your approach tomorrow.

Modify my example like this:

1) Replace all secret walls that disappear to normal walls.
2) Modify all characters to build floor instead of normal walls.

Okay, I didn't understand this when it was posted. But yes, I agree that secret walls that are not visible should not be right-clickable. Secret walls that ARE, however, should be...
