Methinks http://forum.caravelgames.com/viewtopic.php?TopicID=27111 raised an interesting point...

And here's my solution: Death, by default of a toggleable option, opens the restore screen with the beginning of the room in the Continue slot. That'll prompt new players to think that restarting the level might be necessary, although they can still just start from a manual save or the beginning of the room.
