Yes, but an "1" can really down the vote of some points.
Don't be too worried about it; as you get more votes, they will pull your rating towards whatever average most people think your hold deserves, and the outliers will become less important. Plus, many good holds will accumulate at least one "
1"
or "
2"
at some point for whatever reason, so this is a problem that affects everyone in a similar way.
For example, let us take an older hold with a larger number of votes called
The Fool's Errand; it is currently in the top 50 holds ranked on popularity.
It currently has 43 votes. Of these, two were 1, three 5, 6 and 7 both have one, five voted 8, eleven voted 9 and an overwhelming twenty voted 10. The average is 8.58.
If the two "
1"
votes were not there, then the average would be 8.95, which is an increase of 0.37 points.
So, even the most popular holds will get unusual ratings that pull the average down (the hold otherwise has a really right-skewed distribution). Don't worry too much about your rating; give people time to play and cast their votes, and it will eventually reflect the general opinion of your hold better. In any case, a rating of 7 for a first hold is pretty good; it's more difficult to be a good architect than it looks!
