Everything is fine up to the last snake. After killing the second last snake right at the top entrance, I can't find a sequence to accomplish all of
1) Kill last serpent
2) Kill roach, same time with (1) or after (1)
3) Safely hide in the arrow.
simultaneously.

Hints are more than welcome.

This room is *tough*. That last bit took a lot of trial and error.


Hope that helps! It's possible to beat the timer by one move (if that's reassuring in any way )

I see no possibility to get the roach East of me. Could someone provide a demo, or tell me what I am doing wrong in mine?

I can kill the very last snake, and reach the arrow, but I can't kill the roach. Demo attached.

Help?

You need to time things very carefully on this room.

I seriously hate exact stepping and extremely little room for error. After many attempts this is still not working. Demo is appreciated.

I'll try to remember to post a demo, but here's a pretty rough explanation of what's necessary to kill that roach:

I set it up so that I was traveling CCW when I killed the second to last snake. Then, circling around, I brought the roach down to the last snake. The snake didn't die at the entrance to the tunnel, but rather one square up and right from there. I then circled around, and with the roach right behind me, made the diagonal move onto the force arrow right after the brain died, causing the roach to use vertical move preference and die on the hot tile.

Killing the snake with its head on the results in the bomb going off two turns too early to allow beethro on the arrow.

That demo does not work.

Are you using the latest patch? Cause then this room will be impossible. Link.

I'll better send a pm to one of the HAs to make sure that the hold is updated soon.

Ahh, well since you use the the latest patch the demos won't work. I'm in school right now, but I'll try to send some hints/ a demo soon.

Edit: Hmm, there's already a lot of hints for this room, so if you read them through carefully you'll probably be able to figure it out. If you still can't clear it I suggest that you tell me exactly what you do in the end. As it is now it's pretty hard for me to give you any hints, since I have no idea what you're doing wrong.

Well I can get the roach on the otherside of the wall but can't also kill the last snake. I can only do one or the other.

Also, I am on the checkpoint NE of the bottom opening with the roach NE of me and the snake's head SW of me. I can either go W to kill the snake or NW to get the roach stuck.

This is just too difficult. Even help doesn't help. It's a very nice hold and without the timer it would be a nice room too. I can't do this, I'm quitting

Yikes! This is indeed a tough hold.

But before you absolutely positively quit, I'd like to point out that this hold has been updated. The victory demo iamyum posted above does work in the updated hold in DROD version 3.2. If you would like to simply copy the moves in his demo to get past this room, that's an option.
