So we have something that says you can change players by pressing Tab. But it's only decorative. So, my question is, why don't we change its description? Or, better yet, make it work. That would be neat.

Well, I tested them in the editor at one point, and they only work if you have stepped on a party splitter. When you use their effect, they all turn red, and you have to wait for them to turn green one by one before you can use their effect again.

They're only decorative in that place.
