So I was reading through the@Hit "T"" and "NPC's becoming buttons" threads and got yet another idea.

You hit "T"(or any other key that you choose from the options screen). A small grid appears, with a size set by the author. On that grid are buttons(more like tokens actually). You move around, then wait on top of one of those buttons to choose the action you want to undertake. Simpl, right?

Okay, since I already have a suggestion, I may not exactly be devoid of bias, but I might as well say it anyways; that sounds very, very wierd. And, actually, I don't know what Sims game that could possibly be. At all.

Are you saying that hitting T brings up some room that you move Beethro around in to make selections? That would make undesireably long pauses in gameplay every time you use the menu.

It's like my former idea that there would be a menu of buttons. But less convenient, since you have to *walk* multiple steps to do it.

The Sims have a similar menu to that in Gate 88. You may not know that either, but it's freeware, so you may get it and see if you wish to do so.

And I don't think that the interruptions in gameplay would be that disturbing, as the player would quickly learn which action is triggered by which keys (e.g. pressing "T635" makes Beethro do a sommersault).
