Wow! We got a lot of entries, so I'm splitting them up into four leagues of ten. You may vote in as many, or as few, leagues as you like, but please, make sure you pick a score for every entry in the league/s you've voted in.

The top four entries from each league will go through into a 16-member battle royale for your hearts. Cheer on your favourite!

You may use any scheme you like to come to a decision (I'm personally expecting some to rank them, giving the wittiest 10 and the lamest 1), unless your entry is in this league. In that case, you must vote 10 for your entry and judge the other entries on their merits.

Want to tell us who? I'm starting to get really tired of these people for whom the only negative effect of their cheating is that their vote is cancelled.

As am I, but making someone a pariah causes more problems than it solves.

Not that it's impossible to work out which entry's theirs.

But with a submissions thread, who knows whose entry that is? (Well, you do.)

I agree to some extent that making someone a pariah could cause more problems than it solves. On the other hand, they wouldn't necessarily be a pariah--it's up to the community--and really, I'd still like to see some sort of middle ground between "everlasting outcast" and "no effect at all". (Possibly their entry could be disqualified, though given that it's already second to last in this division, third to last overall, that's hardly a penalty.)

Lets just make it policy from the next contest on that the name of people voting 1s for all their opponents will be made public. That will both serve as a deterrent, and if it's official policy (with a reminder in the contest post) and people do it anyway then they deserve what they get and can't get off by claiming a misunderstanding or anything.

I think that's fair enough: I have no problem making it part of the privacy policy, but I'm loathe to do it without prior warning.
