I was making a few levels for KPVIIID3 when I noticed something weird. I made a 'King Pilchard' character, with the 'Citizen 2' graphics and set the player role to him. Anyway, I built a room with a conquer token and no monsters, then entered that room from another, and King Pilchard declare the room as cleared, and the green doors changed respectively, eg. The normal doors opened and the anti-doors closed. However, I then left the room and re-entered it, and it was conquered again, because it remained unconquered when I left. Furthermore, I reset the room, and the room was no longer declared as conquered.

Did this happen when you touched the conquer token, or just when you entered the room?

I can't understand what you're saying here.

It happened just when I entered the room. When the bug was active (Before pressing R to make it unconquered), I left the room, and re-entered, and the room was re-conquered.

I also noticed that the room you enter from mustn't be conquered, else it won't work.

Hmm... well there is something weird going on, but I can't get it to do what you say, Pilchard.

1) Create two rooms, one with a number of monsters (so that it will be unconquered), and one with a conquer token and no monsters.

2) Start in the room with monsters.

3) Move into the room with only the conquer token, without clearing the first room.

4) At this point, the player (whether it be Beethro, or otherwise) plays a sound to indicate the room has been cleared.

However, the room is still not cleared (as is expected).

It may be important to note that this only happens when moving from a room that is unconquered, as Pilchard said (i.e. conquering the first room first, then moving into the second room seems to work correctly).

The reason that the room is conquered is because it waits 1 turn before becoming a monster, therefore, it gets conquered.

I've fixed this so monsterless rooms with a conquer token don't seem to be immediately conquered when entered, even though they aren't really.
