Yeah, well - "Kingfisher" (or "Eisvogel" in German) would be exactly this little critter's name (or type, or whatever...).

Here's photographic evidence...

If you want so much detail that the exact area where an animal can be found is about the size of a single town it's going to be hard to find anyone that knows it, unless he/she happens to be your neighbour...

Got it! On the blog where I found it, somebody identified it as a Black-tailed Prairie Dog, but it looks more like a Common Prairie Dog to me; hence I'm not going to get picky about the exact type. I'm beginning to see why you started this thread...
