How do you catch a roach in both the roach trap and the yellow square in the middle of the room? I've tried everything I could think of but nothing's working.

I guess I don't understand Beethro's message then. When you get four roaches into their traps, he says 'let's try to trap a roach in that yellow square, and teach the Slayer a lesson.'

You do trap a roach in this room.

Think about this puzzle. The yellow square closes when you activate the trap below it. The square trap has not wall to block the roach before you activate the trap

I'm now having my own troubles with this room, though I'm mindful of (and grateful for) the previous discussion here.

is kicking my butt. If I'm positioned too far down the new roach goes into an already-occupied trap. Too high, and the first U is vacated too soon. Too far left (and low), and the SE trap is a problem. All positions seem to be unworkable, which means that my mind is closed to something essential (and apparently obvious to all others). What, please, am I missing?

Check your assumptions about the "rules" of these traps.

Do you have to leave a roach in a trap after it is activated?

I could have sworn I tested for that very possibility, and deduced that the answer was "yes" because a wall didn't rise, or something.

Clearly, I made a wrong observation or deduction. Now I've solved the room. Thanks!

What is supposed to happen once all the roach trap are "filled" ?
I must be missing something as I find no way to finish off the roach queen and the trapped roachling.

I did. When the roach is trapped, it doesn't trigger anything...

That's strange. When you trap that roach, the slayer should leave and open the door to the orb. Maybe there's some scripting issue.

I suppose this script doesn't work well with the new TSS engine. Too bad...

It's not an engine difference, since every demo for every hold was verified against the new engine. It sounds like a scripting bug in the hold itself.

From what I can tell, what doesn't work is to put a roach on top of the square door when it closes and THEN move it onto the center square. The roach has to actually be on the center square when the doors close.
