But I gave a search, and didn't find anything. Perhaps I didn't search well enough.
Anyway, this idea is for a larger trapdoor. You can step on it from any accessible point, and off as well. You can play around on it as long as you'd like, as well. But as soon as you step off, buh-bye multi-trapdoor (or BIG trapdoor, whichever.)
Functioning: There's an internal counter, which counts the weight. The weight begins at zero, and increases each time an avatar who can drop a trapdoor steps on it, the weight increases by one. When the weight goes back to zero, it falls. They fall during normal trapdoor fall sequence, so no mimic can jump on as Beethro jumps off. However, a mimic can jump on
before Beethro gets off, and keep the multi-trapdoor up.
Puzzle potential:
1. Fight monsters in a relatively "
enclosed"
area. Good for inducing claustrophobia.
2. Keep a mimic in a certain area while Beethro fights through the rest of the room, while the multi-trapdoor is the only route to an exit.
3. Interesting variations possible with the "
normal"
trapdoor puzzle.
4. Not really a puzzle, but allows for more cave-in feeling, when a whole chunk of the floor falls behind Beethro. Also, may be more aesthetic than single-trapdoors.
Associations would work as yellow door association--adjacent means it's the same one.
