Pretty self-explanatory. New scripting command to wait for the sword/hook/whatever of any armed character to enter a space.

I realize this is already almost scriptable, but you'd have to deal with 8 diffrent cases for Beethro alone, testing regarding guards and the slayer would fall apart if you had any other monsters in the room. Then there are mimics and decoys.

The most obvious possible use would be to allow 'switches' other than orbs... but this would also be nice for reducing scripting when making a puzzle based on mimics (NPC or otherwise), and in general it would be a nice flexible command.

Hey, I like this idea.

Althought I do belive some people will have a issue with possible abuse of this, I think the advantages outweigh the problems.

Hmm... let's see. Would require polling each character next to the space as to whether it's sword was there. Not totally simple, but it could definitely be worse.

I'm a little suprised that each tile doesn't maintain information as to whether there is a sword present, but then I haven't looked at the source, so my vision of how data is stored in general is probably way off. Anyway, this doesn't seem like THAT big of a deal, since if you have to do it here, the program probably also has to do it every time you check for orb hits or monster death, yes?

Besides, anyone scripting this 'by hand' would have to do the same thing, one step at a time. ;)

Actually, checking for monster death or orbs is done by the monster. However, what could happen is that each turn, each sword-bearing monster marks to an array that it's sword is there, and then the script engine could check for that, which would be simple and efficient.
