It is in fact the video for "Walking on Broken Glass", which is a terrific song and a terrific video. (And yes, that's Hugh Laurie.) You can't find it on YouTube any more, but I found it somewhere on AOL's site, no time to re-Google it myself, but it's out there.

Anyway, absent the return of coppro, I nominate jemann to continue.

Hooray! Cracker it is. Starring Robbie Coltrane as Fitz, a criminal psychologist, this was a terrific (and often extremely dark) drama that screened in the early 90s. There was also a one-off special that was shown last year. noma got the genre right, at least.

The problem for me wasn't "too old", it was "too British". Even having watched the first season of the new Doctor Who, I didn't remotely recognize Eccleston; even Coltrane looked familiar but not quite placeable.

Nothing wrong with using a British series, but it does somewhat decrease the chances that the Yanks on the board have seen it (and the Yanks are, I think, the majority).

Coltrane = Hagrid in Harry Potter, Russian dude in Brosnan Bond films, Daphne's incomprehensible brother in Frasier
Carlyle = Begbie in Trainspotting, villain in The World is Not Enough

Next time I'll try something a little more international.

Oh well. I thought I'd use the same trick that I used in the Guess the Screenshot thread, but it didn't work here. Your turn Stephen.

BTW, about the trailer. Am I the only one disappointed by it? I was hoping that at least 2/3 of the movie wouldn't have Jack in it, and see how the characters interacted without him. But the trailer has him in about every scene except three.

I wouldn't worry too much. Johnny Depp is the big star and will be at the front of every trailer and poster until the film is released. Even if he isn't there for a good part of the movie.
