Oh, cool - I remember reading a review of this game, but I never played it.

Outpost wasn't known for being eclipsed by another game, it was known for being massivley ambitious but totally unplayable. In my case, literatlly - I bought a copy and never managed to get it to run (I got a replacement copy and it didn't run either).

Nope. Although it kinda had the same atmosphere as Disciples. I personally wouldn't recommend it though, it had some really neat ideas, and great visuals (for its time) but the gameplay could have been better.

No, I forget who had the orrery in his home, but he lived at the Lycaeum. Nicodemus was the mage who lived in the Deep Forest and had a giant Knight's Bridge board outside his home.

And actually, the character model used for him was the one used for all NPC mages. But Nicodemus is who I took the screenshot of...

Yeah, I'm a sucker for Yoshitoshi ABe's character designs since "Serial Experiments Lain" came out... it's at least somewhere in my Top 5.

Here's the Wikipedia entry for the series - I'd highly recommend it (the series, not just the Wikipedia entry... ) to anyone looking for something emotional that isn't all-action...
