Beethro's First Real Dungeon - MeckMeckGRE

Long time before King Dungan ever lived; the village where Beethro lives later often was attacked by monsters. So the major always hired guards but however the monsters always return. So he called for a special team which offered a very cheap service. For 350 Greckels they will stop monster invasions. The team consists of a delver, a lazy builder and two architects. However as they analyzed the problem the architects founded a hole in a nearby which permanently spits out monsters. The architects told the lazy builder to seal it. He said he will do it later and as he approached to the hole again, he just threw some nearby stones in and put some wood above the hole. However this worked. The monsters never attaked again.

It was long before the cleaning of King Dungans Dungeon… Beethro was just 14 years old and was attempting delver school. He was in the 9th class and so he had often to do practical exercising with his class mates like smiting few roaches in the schools cellar or dropping fake trapdoors. Beethro was very bored about this: “That’s such easy. The really dangerous monsters awaits in me in the 10th. For my first dungeon I had to wait even longer. It will be part of the 14th class final exam.” Right now Beethro was walking around with his classmates in a forrest. Their task was to move out in groups of four and every group had to kill 15 Roaches of the 2 feet class. Beethro breathed heavily because he had to carry around a big backpack containing 2 Kilos of food, 6 liters Water, 2 first aid kits, pen and paper and a 1600 page novel about roaches. “Beethro! Roaches!” he heared Huns, one of his mates, jelling from behind. He quickly pulled out his Really Big Sword ® and quickly saw the roaches 35 meters in front of him. He started running at the roaches, which now format themselves as a 3x3 square. Beethro attacked them from the diagonal site and killed one of the edge roaches. Splash! Blood flew around and hutted the roaches and Beethro. Beethro didn’t mind the blood and continued. Splash! “I got the second.”. Slowly the roaches got afraid of getting smited because of the skills of Beethro and also because of his 3 mates now also attacking them. After some other bloodbaths they finally got 8 roaches. “So, I think the job is done”, said Beethro “we already got 9 and now we have 17. That’s enough”. Slowly they walked back to the schools main building which was about 1,5 miles away. Beethro drank some liters water and however he got an inner pressure. “Hey guys! I will catch up later, Ill have to go behind a tree” Beethro walked inside the forrest as he stepped on some wooden things.

“Crrrrrrrrrack !” it made and Beethro fell through a hole. He fell many meters and finally landed safe on a stone pile “ouch ! by the 4 legs of the roachqueen, which pushpin guy threw stones here ?”, Beethro jelled. However then he smiled. “Am I just fallen in a dungeon ? I always wanted to be in a dungeon.”, he thought almost forgetting dungeons are smelly, gloomy and dangerous. He started looking around. Behind him was a staircase with the sign “Entrance/Exit” next to it. “No I won’t exit, I will clean this place !” Beethro said to himself. He walked deeper into the dungeon as he approached in a big room which had a green door at her end. A 4 feet roach was to the left of him. He was shocked about her size and ran into the right corner. The roach seemed to have spotted him and started to get nearer to him. Beethro quickly pulled his sword and waited for the roach. As it was just few decimeters away, he gave it a well aimed hit. Slash ! The roach exploded in a giant blood ball and caused about 4 times more splatters than these he destroyed with his mates. He looked for the green door. It seemed to be disappeared. Behind it was another door. A yellow one, like another in the middle of the room, which was shaped like a cage. From school he knew that yellow doors are opened with orbs. He searched around and found one. “I knew that there are togglers, openers and closers but how to use that damn thing ?”, he yelled, “we never learned that.” Beethro started to prod it. As it doesn’t do anything he kicked hardly. The orb was very hard so his food hurted quite well. He took his sword and saying “You ****** thing of an orb, Ill kill you !” he hit the orb with it. BANG ! A flash came out of the orb and hit the yellow “cage”. The cage disappeared and revealed two other orbs, a scroll and a rather ugly skeleton which held a rusty sword and a piece of paper in its hand. Beethro picked up the paper. He read through it and realized that this was a contract with the King who owns the village he lives. It seems that the king knew about this dungeon but however never said it to the major of the village. The contract seems to be still in power and the King or one of his sons would still have to pay the 4.200 Greckels to that one cleaning the dungeon. Beethro imagined him as the cleaner of the dungeon and getting the Greckels and honor. Beethro put the contract in his backpack and read the scroll. “Dear Delver. One orb closes the Cage, the other opens the yellow door of this room. Decide wisely.” Beethro got a little nervous. He really didn’t wanted to die sealed in alive. “Right or left: Ill flip a coin !” he thought He looked at the orbs and the deactivated yellow door. There was no space between them. “But wait !” he thought further “I could stand on the door and my sword would reach the orb. So I could jump down and go back to the first orb if I am wrong. He did like he said and tried the right orb. BANG ! The door under him lifted him up. But also the yellow door at the end of the room opened. He jumped down and went to the exit of the room. Another scroll laid there. He read it.

“Dear delver. Both orbs do the same : Closing the cage and opening the exit door which will close then ten minutes later automatically. Hahaha ! You had luck but ill get you !”

He shook his head. “This bad guy never will get me” he jelled self confident as he entered the next room. As he stepped in he saw a red door at the end and the whole room walls seemed to consist of red doors. In the middle there was a trapdoor. Beethro yawned : “easy !” He stepped on the trapdoor and stepped of again. The trapdoor dropped and the red door at the end vanished and revealed a green door. “But there’s no roa….” Beethro wanted to complain as the other red doors vanished and he could hear a loud “Hmm !” coming from everywhere. He looked around and saw many big eyeballs proceeding to him. Beethro was now really frightened. He didn’t knew how these eyes behave. “But there killable anyway !” Beethro finally said and attacked them with his sword. He quickly realized that they are moving like a roach. Soon he killed all moving eyes. The he searched and destroyed the eyes which still stood still. He experimented a little and figured out that they were wreaked by standing in their line of sight. As he finally got the last eye the green door clanged open. Beethro knew now that green doors open only if there is no single monster left in the room. Beethro went to the third room. It had a blue door at the end and started with a scroll “The blue door opens as soon as every room is clear. You didn’t have to exit again. I fixed that. But however you’ll never have a chance to do this ! You may bet my 2 rooms but this room you will never. Muhahahahaha ! I am the best architect….. “. Beethro tore it in shreds after reading it. “That idiot just wants to keep me busy…. This dungeon might keep idiots busy but not me.” Beethro thought and looked at the room. It had a pit in the middle and on this pit was an island. On the island there was a red snake running an infinite loop. He also saw a wraithwing in an edge. This monster was very common on the plains and so Beethro quickly went to attack him. The wraithwing flew away but finally he got it. Beethro poke it with his sword and then started for a big slash. Suddenly he reminded the snake. How to get to it ? Beethro knew snakes die when they were trapped. However they never had this in school but snakes were sometimes seen overground on the plains. Beethro stopped his slash with all his power and the sword just stopped an inch above the wraithwing. “Maybe I can block the snake’s path with that thing.”. Beethro tried to manipulate the wraithwing to the snake. The first tries failed. “You damn bloody wraithwing!!!!” he often jelled. Finally he figured out how he can manipulate the wraithwing using himself and his sword. He manipulated the wraithwing on the snake island and watched how the serpent grew shorter and shorter and finally bursted into blood. The he manipulated the wraithwing back and killed it. The blue door remained. “What the heck? The architects fix isn’t working?” he said leaving the room and reentering it again. Now the blue door was away. Behind it there was a staircase. Beethro climbed it and founded himself again in the forrest. “I didn’t know where I am exactly but Ill find home” he said starting walking in a random direction and thinking about his future, the 4.200 Greckels and his adventure…..
