Okay, let's start with things that
need to happen.
At some point, I enter the thin corridor and then after
some time, a soldier needs to step through from the east entrance, to let me through the airlock.
The only semi decent idea that I for achieving this is to have an awakened eye trapped behind the northern trapdoor while the soldier is in place.
I then sneak off into the corridor and at some point, the evil eye switches targets, becoming visible to the soldier, making him move.
Now that's great and all but how do I set up both a west-facing soldier that is stationary while having the evil eye there?
If I set up the soldier first, I cannot feasibly put the eye in place without him stepping out.
If I set up the evil eye first, how am I---OH! Oh, rubber-duck debugging moment
Weeeeell, but I'm still stuck, even though I think I know what the goal is.

×I also need the "
free"
soldier to be by the orb, striking it at a convenient moment. This would give the east-entrance soldier one move to make, given the hint Tiresias gave.

×But now I cannot properly set up the eye to be awake while having the soldier take a long time next to the orb.
Largely the problem is that it takes me 4 soldier moves to open the arrows, sneak past, and close the arrows, by which time the soldier has struck the orb or gotten into a position where he never will.
So what am I missing?
Is the attached screenshot salvageable or did I make a mistake already?
