Currently both "
start quote"
and "
end quote"
in e-mails are written as "
----------"
. If there's no newline before the quote tag, there isn't in the email either. Also, there's no way to tell apart...
123
4
5
...and...
12
34
5
...for example. Both of these would end up like this:
----------1----------2----------3----------4----------5----------
Would it be possible to change the email quote formatting to use standard email quoting ? That would make the above example look like this:

1

5
...and...

...and would enable the email client to use quote highlighting and such. (Some extra spacing would be nice as well, but didn't include that here for, eh, space reasons).
Also, long lines aren't wrapped, which violates all kinds of email specs. Lines shouldn't be longer than around 72-80 characters, and
never be longer than 998 characters. Some word wrapping and line breaking would be nice (maybe except within code tags ?). If you want to keep the text flow without any breaks like on the forum, you can add "
format=flowed"
to the content type header.
