I don't understand how this can be done. While I'm in the large section of the room, I can't get the mimic farther than 3 tiles from the wall which isn't enough to gain any leverage. If I enter the small section with the pressure plate, I can gain a bit of leverage by growing the small blob, but it's not nearly enough. E.g. the mimic would need to traverse 7 tiles vertically from the edge of the island to the "mainland", but the alcove is only 5 tiles tall.

Consider this question.

How does the mimic move when the raft can't move in that direction?

He slides with vertical preference. But the only way to make an eastward diagonal impossible also blocks the raft vertically, so I can't get any horizontal displacement relative to mimic.

Edit: oh wait, I wasn't trying a very simple thing...
