I can't figure out a way to get the babies once the trapdoors are gone--or, rather, to do that without sealing the exits. I must be missing something, but I'm not sure what.

There's no move order involved, beyond the fact that Beethro moves before monsters.

You might want to refresh yourself on the initial state of the room, that might make things a little clearer.
