I've been working on a free-software game since early 2023 called Infinitesimal Quest 2 + ε. It's a remake of Infinity Quest II, a turn-based Gauntlet-like quasi-puzzle dungeon-crawler that happened to be released the same year as Webfoot DROD. I felt that Infinity Quest II would be better if it was more of a puzzle game, so my remake adds changes like determinism and unlimited undo.

The most basic differences from DROD are:

- The weapons work differently: the sword is bump-to-attack, and you have a bow, too.
- You don't die in one hit. Often, you'll have to take some damage to win.
- Levels aren't broken into discrete rooms, but there is a fairly small "reality bubble" around you in which monsters are allowed to move.
