If an aumtlich is looking at a temporal projection, the projection doesn't do the little thing they do where you can see what move they want to do next.

Looking at the code, this is on purpose. It might be worth changing since it is not certain that a Temporal Project being blasted by a beam will be unable to move. Indeed, if it's next move is a rotation, it's certainly able to move.

I did notice that Beethro can't affect the frozenness of the projection on that turn - if it's frozen, blocking the beam of killing the aumtlich won't let the projection move; and if it's not frozen it can still move even if you unblock a beam.
This is consistent with how stalwarts are affected, so I guess no-one has noticed or cared since 3.0

As to the original issue, I noticed it when I was trying to check that I'd waited with the projection the right number of turns - I wanted to start moving when frozen to save a move, then I was confused because I thought I'd waited too long.
So I want to see the attempted move even if it's not possible, similar to bumping into a wall or door, etc.
