Have two other rooms on your minimap. The following is specifically talking about the minimap always visible in the bottom-left, and not the full-screen minimap you get when clicking on your current location.

When clicking between two rooms you are not currently in on the minimap, the room you are currently in is drawn for one frame when swapping the preview between the other two rooms.

I've thought about this just a little, but this doesn't seem to be a bug to me. IIRC, it's by design that when you're done previewing a room from the lower-left minimap, the preview is closed and the current room is fully redrawn before acting on the next event.

What am I missing?

I mean, it's not a bug in the sense that there's something wrong. It's just that the user would expect the bottom-left minimap to be clickable, so it's surprising (and unnecessary) for the current room to be redrawn.
