Hi, I used to play this game, having designed some levels myself. Subterra doesn't appear to be on the website anymore for download. Does CrystalShard still distribute the game, or is it 'abandonware'? Thanks.

Thanks for that, I stay tuned.
Any news about release?
I would instantly buy it, I am a big fan of SubTerra back from the days it was published by SpiderWeb.

We released it close to three years ago: https://store.steampowered.com/app/781840/Sub_Terra_Draconis/

This is a very excellent game on its own, don't get me wrong, but its mechanics in addition to graphics are definitely very different than the original Subterra. Do you know there is a steam re-release of the vintage/original SubTerra 1 and 2, or do people who want to play them just have to look it up on old third-party websites that still have them?

In which case, it lags very heavily every time on my Lenovo gaming PC with AMD Razeon graphics, even though DROD: AE from the same era runs flawlessly on it. Do you know why the original games don't run smoothly on more modern machines?

Okay, another thing I found....

There is a demo version and a paid version, which I can accept because it probably required more work than the original first two, but I believe the originals should be kept 100% free if they are uplaoded to Steam eventually, as that is how they were on the old links.

They're actually not. While there's been some streamlining in object behavior, almost all levels from the original SubTerra play in Sub Terra Draconis, and run to completion with the same demo data.
