1. How come I'm not getting any parrying skill points? I've been blocking with my shield in every fight, but my parrying skill is stuck at 22. Meanwhile, all my other skills are skyrocketing.

Blocking with a shield is not the same as parrying...

You have to specifically use the parry ability, which is the D key or the two crossed swords icon on the middle right of the mouse controls.

There's something you can say, and she'll respond with like "I don't think so! Time to take a little walk!" and you'll get a moment to use your items. That's the time.

Might take a few tries, sometimes she just does it and I don't get a chance to react.

Thanks! I think the reaction time thing might have something to do with where you're standing. If you're too close to an exit from the area, you leave in a haze before you can react. Just a hunch.

Could you clarify when she doesn't give you the chance, because that shouldn't happen. Given how the code works, it's unlikely that the heroine's location on screen is relevant.
