In the editor, if you click on the tab with the checkpoint on it you should see a white square. This is for lighting effects.
When selected, use your mouse wheel to scroll up and down the amount of darkness/lightness, then you can place them in the room (over anything).
There is also an option which sets the overall darkness for an entire level/room. Go back to the main editor screen, and click on "
Weather"
. In their you have the option to change the darkness (and the weather, of course
), which you can set for the single room or whole level.
