Not really a bug.. but not balance either.

Is there any way to make it play full screen under the new version?

Yes. Open the Data\Leylines.ini file, find the line that says "FullSc=1" and change that to "FullSc=0".

I'll put in a better method some time soon.

It's major advantage over the flamecaster is that it does more damage.
Since there is no unit called "flamecaster", could you tell us which one you mean?

if your casting a spell, and want to stop casting it, the only way to do that is to switch to another spell-that makes being goblins really annoying, becuase then if you cast a spell then you have to wait till you've finished it before you will be doing any researching(unless you control a monastery or find a scroll...).
Not if you train sages, which give research.

I also think the jellyfish use too much mana, as mana is the hardest thing for them to get.
I suppose I could make them cheaper, but they only cost three mana, surely you can train a few conjurers? How many jellies do you need, anyway?

Also, in a hot seat game, as the elves, with 3 citys, a priest mercenary and 3 vigilante (all in one city), the (regency) enemy sent 2 ornithopters at me.
I'm afraid that's quite impossible to verify without a saved game. It is possible that the Regency had e.g. a few assassins or other hidden units with him?

there is only one quote in the mirror section, from that old necromancer. shouldn't there be more?
Yes. Working on that.

2)
almost all the pictures for the Wizards are quite on the dorky side. no offence, but surely there was more to choose from, and some of them must be better than the current ones?
Frankly, no. If you can find freelance artists willing to license their work for a third-party game, be my guest. You didn't think you could simply grab whatever you could find on the internet, and use that without permission, I hope?

I think that alot of the Dwarven units could do with a bit more HP or Defence, such as the sopoliphs(or whatever they are...), they could do with a bit more health.
Sopholiths are support troops, not combat units.

sometimes, when you finish moving a unit, it will disappear. not physically, but it is still disconcerting.
Got a save of that? Otherwise, bug reports that start with "sometimes" are pretty much impossible to track down.

Playing in low-res crashes the game for me. (After the first "end turn", regardless of game settings.)

Also, raiders always seem to be able to spot my hidden units, but that could be intentional?

Save: message at start of turn is not right.

Mending is not supposed to cure plague, it's the description that's incorrect.
So the only way to cure plague is with a healer unit?

That doesn't reproduce; the saved game works fine for me. Could you elaborate on what exactly happens?
Well, it appears to be WINE specific, as it also works fine under VMware. So I imagine you're not interested in the WINE output. Any progress on a Linux version?

Cheers, Wayne

Edit: I posted the answer in the balance thread.

Edit2:
savefile: in the most northern city all units that are built get the ranger skill

I noticed Djinns can't gain experience. If this is intentional, it should be visible in their skill list. Or they should be changed back to magical.

Flying currently is not cumulative with any other movement bonuses. While this is in itself a good thing, the way it works now a unit with flying can't ever move faster than the fixed flying speed. This means they move at 25% of the speed of non-flying units on ethereal paths. Not sure if this is a bug or balance issue.

edit3:
animate dead also revives undead units..

Save: move the pikeman stack until it has no movement points left. Now press End Turn. Two of the units in the stack will indicate they still want to move (and break the stack).

Cast spellshaping on the two enemy marksmen. Their enchantments are visible: might of giants. But the enchantments are not (re)moved.

EDIT: this is not a bug, the enemy has Magic Seal active. Still a bit confusing, though.

Capture the final yellow city to defeat yellow. A message turns up: "you have defeated foo!". Next turn, you get the message "foo has been defeated!" Getting the same message twice does not seem right.

That's because she has Flame Aura active. It's kind of hard to hide when you're on fire :D

Another problem with the alliance is that when you take over a city belonging to either race in the alliance, you can produce all units of that race.
That is intentional.

Here, the enemy (yellow) suddenly has a nether ooze. What I think has happened, is that a new ooze was replicated on top of an enemy stack and then became one of his units. Is that right?
It would seem that Leander has simply researched the spell and is casting it. He has more oozes around and is a chaos adept.
