Since Deep Hold has hit 12 levels now, I feel like I should give credits to all the ideas from other people that my rooms utilised.
(And also, I need something to do while I think up something for level 13. It's going to be something really annoying, like The Maze.)

Many times I only used a small idea and then built on it with something of my own, but there are some rooms that are (unintentionally) almost exact copies of someone else's. Well, here goes.....

Levels 1, 2, and 3 were build before I had a chance to play user-created holds. At the time, I had lots of ideas anyways, so I didn't need to borrow from Dugan's.

L4:1N, The Ten Gates of Tom, based on the Eight Gates of Bill in Dugan's Dungeon
L4:1S1E, based on a post by Matt I saw in the forum somewhere - about the seven bridges (somewhere in Russia).

L5:1S1E, based on Smallsome Swicks - 1N I think...with the tar babies flanking...
L5:1S, also based on Smallsome Swicks - the room with the serpent loop where you musn't wake the tar mothers.
L5:1W, based on the Nonlinear Arena.
L5:1N - The solution comes from the room in The Cave west of the secret room - just a little aesthetical design in one place becomes a puzzle in another.
L5:1N3E, the force arrow maze, based on Dugan's.

L6:1S1W, from Silicon Valley. This one was too good to pass up.
L6:2S, from the three mother room in Dugan's Level 8.

L7:1S, Claythro Tower's First Story, Once West.
L7:1E - the way to kill the snake was inspired by the room in Smallsome Swicks where you kill the snakes on a 2-square-wide door.

Level 8 was completely a commemoration for Dugan's Dungeon.

Level 9 was the "creature" shape inspired by Claythro Tower.

L10:2S1E was based on the serpent/tar room in Dugan's Dungeon Level 20.
L10:3S1E is also from Dugan's, but I can't remember where. Somewhere with the same floor colour, I remember. I think there was a wraithwing and a red door.
L10:1N is from The Tomb of Nomb, The Tomb, Twice East.

L11:1E is from Claythro Tower. It was almost an exact copy so I added an "apologies" scroll there (like in the Silicon Valley room).
L11:2N3E is from Dugan's L23:1N.
L11:2N4E - inspired by Claythro Tower. I think it's on the first story.

L12:1N2E, right section, from The Steps - Tar Machine.
L12:2N1E, lower section, from John's World.
L12:1N1E, the mimic blockade is from Ricky's Dungeon Level 2.

Sorry if I forgot anything. Please don't make too big a deal out of it if I did, because, as I said, I only did this to pass the time.....

By the way, has anyone found out what type of creature Level Nine is shaped as?

Ooh... I like mazes (I don't think other people on the forum do though). What sort will it be?

I don't know if it will actually be a maze, only that it will be really annoying.

Yes! Go me!

:w00t

The Seven Bridges of Konigsberg (indeed, it's Russian, but good luck finding it on a map) is a classic mathematical puzzle that comes in handy when planning and playing trapdoor mazes made of of islands and trapdoor bridges. Basically, you can only have two 'islands' that have an odd number of bridges for it to be solvable.

Well, I've finally thought of something. You'll hate me for it. ;)

Well, it's going to have to be pretty bad for me to hate you for it. See L5 of Bavato's Dungeon to see what I mean.

All right, maybe not *hate*, but it will be really boring, believe me.

Oh, and repetitive too.

I did a little calculation, and, you will have to... oh, better not spoil it. I'll mention it when it's done.

P.S. I'm only just starting level 2 in Bavato's, so.....

You can warp if you want to. There's nothing wrong with it.

If it's boring as in a "Hanoi tower" puzzle or a puzzle involving striking orbs 2^(number of orbs in room) times, or something like that, where you know where the exit is and how to get to it, but you can't physically do it because you need to wait for a really long period of time before you can actually leave, then I think it's not a good idea to have it in your hold. At least a maze, although frustrating, allows you to search for the exit, while waiting for serpents/hitting orbs over and over again is just very boring. If you do put such things in the hold, make them excessively long-winded/time consuming, repetitive, and boring, and then say that in a description or boast about it, then it may put people off playing your hold.

I'm not actually *boasting*. The player will actually have stuff to do all the time, but this level is pretty easy - only long. I am aiming to create a level worse than The Maze, and I don't mind if people want to level-warp over it in future.

Just trying to beat out Dugan's. ;)

OK, I've finished making level 13 now (but not the testing), but one room I have to give credit for.

L13:1N1E - from urban's "The Steps" - Robin Wood
