Hi :)

I've managed fine with my saving till now - by deleting old saves once I reached 20's worth - but since I (just) started chapter 4 that method no longer works and my saves are disappearing by themselves !!

The last two times I have saved there have been fewer saves left each time and I now only have about 5 :-O

Is there a cure for this, please ??

BTW. This is a wonderful "blast from the past" style game and SO beautifully produced .... BIG congrats and my very grateful thanks to all concerned in its development :thumbsup
I do hope there will be more of the same from this team.

Cheers.

Hi Madd You have to go and renumber your save games in order for example 1st .000 2nd .001
I had this problem before and Radiant told me to try this and it worked. Also you might want to download Version 1.1 because i had this problem ownly on Version 1.0.

Hi cyberdalekyeti :)

Thanks for responding.

I have no idea which version I have. How can I tell ??

A surprise is that (and I have NO idea why) my saves have suddenly started working again :thumbsup and I have managed to accumulate a few now. So I am hoping this good fortune will continue :D

Cheers.

I am not sure how to tell what version you have but Version 1.1 i think the first day this version was available to download was
July 21.
So if you downloaded it before than it was Version 1.0.
And if you do decide to download the latest Version 1.1 you will have to start over because your old save games will not work on the newer version.

Hi again :)

I think I may have downloaded the game before July 21st but obviously I'd prefer not to have to start over again unless I absolutely have to :blink

So I'll be keeping all fingers crossed that my new lot of saves stay with me :glasses

Once again, thank you very much for kindly answering my post.

Cheers.

Well, my saves started disappearing again so I've now downloaded the current version and will have to start the game over :rolleyes

Such is the "adventuring" life !! :lol

Hi :)

Well, I downloaded the current version and replayed and actually got a little further into the game - but now the "losing saved games" is happening again !!

It is very frustrating .... Every save I make overwrites the previous one, just as before :thumbsdown

Unhappy Madd :(

Hi Madd,

I'm not sure as to the nature of this problem as I never ran into it myself (I'm often too lazy to save), but I think you can't have more than 20 saved games. Have you checked the posts here http://forum.caravelgames.com/viewtopic.php?TopicID=16800), and are they of any help?

HI the ownly thing i can think of is try what i said in an earlier post and renumber the save games starting with .000
But this is strange because it only had this happened to me playing Version 1.0 and renumbering the save games fixed it.

Hi :)

What happened this time was that when I needed to make my 21st save, before I saved it, I deleted some of the earlier saves to "make space" and then made it.

After that all was normal again until I got to my 25th save and then it all went to pot - just as it has in the earlier version - in that any save I made was overwriting the previous save.

I really don't want to start this game over yet again so I am going to carry on and see if I can make it through. But it is disappointing in a game that's otherwise very enjoyable.

Thanks though once again for responding. Much appreciated.

Cheers.

I think Radiant will probably get this fixed when he gets back, but you can still get through the game without needing 20 saves... typically I save 2 times per chapter, (though 3 times for chapters 3,4,5 and once for ch1). Dying can happen, but at least the automatic saves mean you don't have to play from the entire beginning again.

Unless you're trying to get 100%, I don't really see why you need more than 1 save anyway.. thats all I needed. Seeing as you can never get in a dead end, you can just keep overwriting the same one.

But I guess you're trying to get 100% and want to be able to revert to anywhere in the game?

Hi TripleM :)

I think having a choice of saved games to load is a "safety habit" acquired long, long ago and one I find difficult to shake :lol

Cheers.
