Upgrading your 1.5 player data to 1.6 can be done, but it will reset all the data in your 1.6 installation. That's why, if a 1.5 installation is found on your computer when you install 1.6, it asks whether you want to import on the first run
only. After that, it won't ask you any more because doing so will cause your data to become unstable. So here's what I recommend to do:
1. Backup your 1.6 files just in case something in the following steps doesn't work as you expected it to.
2. Export all your important 1.6 stuff to .hold and .player files on disk.
3. Reinstall DROD:AE (1.6) so that on its first run it asks you whether you want to upgrade your 1.5 data. Answer yes. If it doesn't ask you this, just exit DROD and add the following lines to the drod.ini file in the Data subdirectory:
[Setup]
ImportPath=C:\\DROD1.5\\Data
Status=ready
This will tell DROD to upgrade your data from the drod1_5.dat file found in the directory you list next time you run 1.6. Once you do this, rerun DROD 1.6 and upgrade your data. Once you see your 1.5 data is in your 1.6 installation, import all your .hold and .player files to restore the stuff you had in 1.6 before you started all this.
Hope this helps!
Mike
