I can't figure out how to get past the second 'subroom'. Where shall I stand and where the mimic? I can kill two roaches only before they kill me.

OK well, I got past the first two rooms, but I am stuck on the third one. Basicly it seems I must run to the mimic chased by two
bugs, and then I guess I place it incorrectly or something but the
best I can do is place it just north of me (both our sword face south) and then I can move only to the west until I hit the wall and die a cruel death. Where is my error ?
