Yeah, i want to create a good puzzle game. A prototype with about 14 lvl's exists. But thy are yet relatively easy(30 for all). The only problem is that i would need some help to make it a real good game. look at my post "need advice" at the development board. The problem is how can i get that prototype online, so that someone can download it and give it a try?? :huh :huh :huh

It's an easy problem to solve. Just go to www.google.com and search on "free webhosting". There are many places that will host your game in exchange for annoying visitors with advertisements when they come to your site. But it's good enough for handling a few downloads.

Sure, it won't hurt. But why not figure out the download thing first so people can take action? It might only take you a half hour to get your files up on a free host.

Well, the game is relatively simple: there are no enemies, so you're the only one that can move. Goal of a level is to collect a given number of crystals and then head for the level exit. that sounds easy.

But there are traps around: that attack everything(with a laserbeam) that is in a row with them, except there is something between you and the trap.

secondly there are many different switches( for doors, making objects invisible, turning arrows)

arrows behave like the ones in drod(well you can't move diagonally anyway)

to solve a puzzle yo must move objects: there are 16 different blocks(wood, stone, heavy stone, and ice) round, and edgy. Stones can interact with each other(destroying blocks, bumping blocks) yeah thats all about. simple isn't it

Hey, could get the file up. Please give my game a try and respond to me.

earth.prohosting.com/fheinzi/hauntedhalls.exe

Well it has poor graphic(2d) but it still needs a 3d accellerator

don't bother the editor you wouldn't be able to control it(too buggy)
If you give it a try, here are the controls:

F1: Undo a move
F2: restart level
F4: change the control(after pressing it the controls are slower)
F5: 32lvl's back(doesn't make sense)
F6: one lvl back
F7: one lvl forward
F8: 32lvl's forward(also makes no sense)
F9(or somthing else switches towindow mode)

and use the cursors to move the player
PS.: After starting the game you have to press F2 once to load the first lvl. :) :)

Hope uploading was no mistake! :huh

This URL has some problems. First an ISP page comes up and it looks like it will work after I click on a link, but after I click on the link, I get a 404 error. So something's screwey there. If you don't have any other ideas, you might try creating an index.html file for your site that links to the file--that might be what it's complaining about.
Well it has poor graphic(2d) but it still needs a 3d accellerator
Ah sorry, I don't have a 3d-accelerated card, or actually I can't seem to find a driver for my very old card. Maybe other people will try the game out.

It's fine - you're just assuming it is what it isn't :D

It's this:

http://earth.prohosting.com/fheinzi/hauntedhalls.exe (no "www")

Well, I've had a play and it's pretty nice - not particularly original, I've seen loads like this before, and I don't really like Sokoban type games - but that's my personal preference, not a criticism of your game.

The big things I would suggest are a main menu and also a system of automatically restarting when you die - or a press any key to continue situation. Having to press F2 is not very intuitive, and at the moment it's not very clear how to start - even a message saying "press F2 to begin" would help.

Anyway, pretty impressive for a first try. Far better than I could do...

Well, as i said it's in a raw shape. I programmed just as much as needed for playing it.

Main menue that would be a luxurious thing. :D

Can't believe somone really played the game i programmed.

Anyway: LVL10 Scrap Yard

Bottom right there is a red thing(normally 4 arrows) the direction Indicator

in level 10 are only two, which means, that blocks can only be moved into the shown directions. :D :D :)

Hello norman!

I have played the game, very impressive for a first version, it has pretty fair graphics, and the gameplay is ok.

Actually a was expecting to see a begginers mess, but it does is nice looking.

I am a junior programmer, i´ve done business things, and i have always dreamed about game development :) in what language are you doing this:huh if i can ask.

regards!

Damn, you doin' fine.

I've kinda got my head around C++, but now I need to learn DirectX, which is a damn sight harder. Sigh...
