i was just metdroid prime, or what ever its called, and i noticed a strange thing with the ai, not sure if bug or not.

when i was facing horazontally, and had a 2 tar babys surrounding me thus:
Tar Baby
Me-sword
Tar Baby
and moved one square backwards, they would go like this

Me-swordTar Baby
Tar Baby

but when i was facing vertically, with 2 tar babys like thus:

Me
T S T
A W A
R O R
R
B D B
A A
B B
Y Y

and when i moved one step backwards, they would remain in their position.

odd.

Monsters have vertical movement preference, so you are probably just seeing a manifestation of that. It is highly unlikely that there is a monster movement bug that has so far gone unnoticed, especially considering how many people have played those holds, but if there is, you would need a bit more explanation and also what you expect to occur.

Its not a bug, its just one of the (many) rules about monster movement.
In this case, if a tar baby cannot move diagonally to the square it wants (which is blocked by the sword), it will first try to move vertically towards Beethro, then horizontally.

That's actually consistent behavior. In your examples, the tar babies are always moving vertical before horizontal. And in your second pic, the southern tar baby can neither move diagonal or verticle (northern tar baby beat him to the square), so he moves horizontal.
