Okay, this stinks. Just to let you know. I created tar and mud babies to emulate cars, and a snake in the middle portion of the playing field. The tar and mud don't even kill you, and the river isn't there at all. Help? :~(

Perhaps you want guards instead of tar/mud? Or wubbas with swords taped to them?

Hm...I guess there's no "Wait for player to be adjacent" (at which point you could run "turn into monster"). Should there be?

You can have a character move one square at a time. You'll check to make sure that the character moves forward every turn (and doesn't sidetrack), and if the player blocks it, then something bad will happen. Like brussel sprouts.

Oh, thanks, now I want to make a graphical mod for DROD in which all the tar babies look like brussels sprouts and all the mud babies look like peas.

I haven't actually looked at this hold yet, but I thought a cool way to achieve this would be to use Halph at the bottom of the room and bumpable doors at the top. In addition to the oscillating sword-wielding characters, of course.

There's actually a secret room in in Figure or Ground that reminds me of this.
