Today I was trying to improve a few of my scores in The Choice, and found a way to clear 4E in 78 moves, which qualified for a 1st place score. However, the first time I cleared the room, I lost my connection to CaravelNet while uploading the replay and my key got invalidated. I requested a new key, and cleared 4E again the same way, but then when I looked at the high scores for that room, my score was listed twice! I tried downloading both demos to see if they both had the right sequence of moves, and they not only had the same moves but they were recorded at exactly the same time, which seems like the problem was one demo being uploaded and being saved on CaravelNet twice rather than DROD submitting one demo, then a second demo with the same number of moves and having both accepted.

This was fixed within 1 hour (when I got on the forum to talk about it, I looked at my scores and the second score for that room had already been removed) so it shouldn't be a major problem, but I thought it was bizarre. Has anyone else seen something like this happen?

Odd things can happen if you lose your CaravelNet connection during uploading. However, as you've seen, the spider verifies all demos on the server so these glitches are usually fixed automatically fairly quickly.

In the interest of not starting a new topic, I'll hijack this one:

Currently the high score list for Pelcho's Puzzles, 1 South, 1 East reads...

1 Rabscuttle 855 1:52.68 10-04-2005
2 Doom 922 1:46.95 10-31-2005
3 Tahnan 922 2:52.31 02-10-2006
3 Tablesaw 1295 4:23.76 05-31-2005

I have no idea how Rabscuttle managed it in 70 less moves than Doom and I did, but that's not the site's problem. What is the site's problem is that I'm mysteriously tied for third with Tablesaw, and not for second with Doom.

I mean, I like Tablesaw and all, but this seems, you know, wrong. Is this one of those things the mysterious "spider" takes care of?

EDIT: The next room (2E) has also interesting high scores.
1	Stefan 509	3:07.11	29.08.2005
2	Azsedcf 4221	10:02.69	22.11.2005
3	asmussen 12437	21:51.77	01.06.2005
4	silver	14323	20:55.76	31.05.2005

There are not many rooms where the 3rd has almost 12000 more moves than the first, which is more than 24 times the first one's moves.
This isn't a bug. The room is made so that you pretty much are unable to screw up, but solving it could take a lot of moves if you just fool around without thinking first. My solution should be close to optimal.

Edit: Come to think of it, you never posted this as a bug, just as an interesting observation... Sorry.

Edit2: The scores in the third post look a little weird, though, but it seems to have been fixed.
